In the past pupils with Dyspraxia were probably described as clumsy. Now there is recognition that there is more to it than just that, and there are tell-tale signs and ways teachers and parents can help. Dyspraxia is classed as a Specific Learning Difficulty, in that it is an impairment of movement and coordination through the mechanisms that control these areas of activity. As such, it can also affect language perception and thought, as well as speech. At the same time, you are urged to ensure that an educational psychologist and doctor have been consulted.
