What causes learning Difficulties?
Some children develop and mature at a slower rate than others in the same age group. As a result they may not be able to do the expected school work. This kind of learning disability is called developmental delay. Some children with normal vision and hearing may misinterpret everyday sights and sounds. Premature birth and medical problems sometimes leads to learning disabilities. For example children born to drug abusers and alcoholics.
Some learning difficulties tend to run in families and may have been inherited, for example if we study the family tree of a dyslexic or autistic, someone would have had it earlier in the family. It is mainly carried by Men. Learning disabilities are more common among boys than girls.
What are the early warning signs of learning difficulties?

- Reasoning: Difficulty in organizing and integrating thoughts -a Semantic / pragmatic disorder
- Memory: Difficulty in recalling information and instructions.
